Love the solos in "The Unknown Guest" and "King of Those Who Know".

Yeah, now that you mention it...

Ghost Brigade sounds something like Opeth. So does In Mourning. Even Disillusion. This? Miles different.

I'd say Ghost Brigade is a lot closer to newer Katatonia than Opeth. In Mourning, however, definitely has some glaring similarities with Opeth. I don't really see how Disillusion or Cynic could be compared though.

Yeah I find more elements of Katatonia in Ghost Brigade then Opeth as well.In Mourning and Disillusion definitely give off an Opeth vibe but I find nothing in Cynic that reminds me of Opeth.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with the Katatonia influence.

Not to press, but what did you guys think of the review?

This is quite good. It is also very short. If it was a few songs longer my rating would probably be higher.

I really don't understand why length matters. At all. Ever. If something is 80 minutes long but it's all good, then it works (Darkspace III). If something is 35 minutes long but it's all good, then it works (this).

I think the short length makes it easier to digest, and there is no unnecessary flab created.
Basically this is one lean mean album.

Haha thanks.
Well i've only listened to it 5 times so far, but the only rating i can think of is 5. Its a new dimension for metal, and will influence many a band to come.
Another advantage of it being so short is that you can listen to the whole thing easily in one sitting.

it's a good point, the last album was way too long... on top of it not pleasing some people

the last album was way too long

i dont really find that, i love Focus. I can't think of any unnecessary parts of that album.
I just checked, Focus is only 36 minutes long, which isnt over the top at all.

Ah you must have the pro version with all the remixes/remasters on the end. My version ends at How Could I, yours probably has the Portal Demo on it or something.
