If people were to get over the "Oh it's not the origanal members so it's not good" type attitude and actually listen to the album they would find out it's not that bad.... but it's definately no Appetite

I have just listened to this album for the first time in over a year. I thought it was bad back in 2008 but now I hate Axl Rose even more.

Where did it all go wrong?

No matter what they say, Axl Rose is a living legend. Chinese Democracy may not be an album worth waiting for a dozen of years, but at least it is a great album that any rocker should listen. Better is the best song in the album and may be one of the best lyrics that Axl ever wrote.

Absolute 5 star classic.

Yes it's totally different than the classic G&R, but sonically it's one of the few records that not only finds me getting absorbed every time I listen to it, but much like pink Floyd you hear the record differently every time.

The stores in my area have this at the price of a pizza slice so I thought why not get this and hear how (bad) it actually sounds.

I gotta say it's actually quite listenable.

Gonna have to bump this up

I've just realised that I have a pretty big number of high rated albums from the period starting from around August '08 to ~April '09.

four 5s from that period and not a single one since except one from early '10 that I later bumped down.

Maybe it's cos that's around the time I really started to get into music

The opening trio on this is pretty awesome. Each song tops the one before it.
