Never really heard much about another weekend. I'll have to check it out, thanks.

I feel like listening to this again. When I listened to it and rated it, I wasn't into electronic music in the slightest.

Maybe I'll end up rekindling my past love for bloc party in the process.

It took my a lot of listens to really get into this and A Weekend In The City

I liked most of a weekend in the city from my first listen. The first couple of songs do a really good job of pulling you in.

No because "Song For Clay" whilst good is so long.

I've never really been bothered by song lengths, even in my teens when I had a pretty short attention span. I figure a song is only too long when it can't hold your attention anymore.
|
| |
But it's not just its length, it's a song with very little sense of urgency, which as an opening track just irritates me.

I think it's the perfect opener to a very sober record. A Weekend is my favourite (fuck off atavan).

Really? It was practically love at first hearing for me. It's not like this is super difficult music or anything.
|
| |
Took me a while too. The first few times I heard it (and this actually too), I thought my favourite band had just let me down soooooooo hard because it was almost nothing like Silent Alarm.

this is actually much better than i remember on re-listen, even if the lyrics are pretty lame and kele's singing sounds weirdly camp in parts

Lyrics are great man. Kele is a fantastic lyricist (ignoring his solo work, god oh god why)
