It's like a movie score in a sense, an it has some great riffs that get overlooked cause in my opinion, some people harbor on the thought that it's all very same-sy. Way better than The follow up album.

This record is a masterpiece to me, so my first thought is absolutely. However, if you like more traditional black metal I'd recommend their debut Ultima Thulee.

Yeah Cosmosphy is pretty sweet, Sects is like a better version of that album in my opinion. I'm guessing you have already checked out Vetusta II right?
