Character is the best

The Gallery > Character = Damage Done > The Mind's I > rest
No way is Damage Done overrated, it's always overlooked in preference of Fiction or Character. The first half has some of the best songs DTs ever written (apart from The Gallery obv.)

Ha you're right. That was just at the moment. Don't really get why most people don't like The Mind's I

me either, it's so damn artsy I love it

Yeah The Mind's Eye (song) is my favourite instrumental closer ever, along with No Dreams Breed In Deathless Sleep

fiction and character are better than damage done, Gallery is the best though.

I agree with the first part of what you said but i'm one of the few who'll disagree with you on the second part.

Every other DT album has at least one song that's either filler or not up to par (the middle 4 songs on Fiction, Ex Nihilo on Damage Done). This doesn't.

haha no, but seriously every time there's an argument about dark tranquillity either you or me or someone else says "THIS IS HOW IT IS" and still no one agrees ever

haha no, but seriously every time there's an argument about dark tranquillity either you or me or someone else says "THIS IS HOW IT IS" and still no one agrees ever That's because you keep trying to convince people of how great this album is... and it's not. Other than the production, it's a step down from Skydancer. They didn't make a really great album until Projector anyway. How's that for an opinion no one will agree with?

but projector is awesome yo

I agree. The part most probably wouldn't agree with is that (IMO) Projector was the first really great album they ever released.

it depends how you view their oblique style that differentiated itself between their first three records because Skydancer was not nearly as dark as the rest of the scene's releases at the time, then The Gallery was unique in it's riff structure, moreso with the lead parts and scarcely incorporating keyboards that immediately altered the mood, and then The Mind's I was a completely new thing for everything I thought because of the actual display of how the record played itself through with it's short/long and artsy tracks. Projector was just as experimental as they've always been but even moreso because they started incorporated more conventional song structures while at the same time removing the word conventional by being so eclectic

All of those things are true. My opinion is purely based on whether those differences (and the albums in their entirety) turned out to be an enjoyable listen. Skydancer was good because it was a little less dark and also pretty experimental without being annoying. Except for the first song, The Gallery felt like it was an incomplete album. Some of the melodies were cool but the songs all felt like they were missing something. The Mind's I is just boring.
