man, WHAT a disappointment. The Fall of Ideals took a lot of the awesome elements on This Darkened Heart and glossed them into a sheen. This takes that sheen and turns it into a pop-like turtle wax... damn, you're right, this album is one bad analogy.

Here's to hoping they rebound the next time out (though I doubt they will ever be as relevant as they were in the summer of 2006).

this is the definition of metalcore and all the bad connotations that are attached to the genre.

hmm... I agree with the second part of your statement. Disagree with the first.

Album was boring. A few good moments though.

Album is okay, a few hits and few misses. It's the average follow up for a band coming off the success of their last record.

good ass review... u totally reamed them lol. I thought they lost their edge with The Fall of Ideals although it did have some catchiness i felt they were just going to keep towards that radio rock-like progression (meaning none), which is pretty true. To be honest I liked them before The Fall of Ideals, but i don't think they are going to get any heavier, especially as they get older

TFoI was their heaviest, wasn't it?

No, it was probably their first album Behind Silence and Solitude

I always forget about that one (even though I own it). TFoI has almost a Melo Death feel to me...

Some songs draw a fine line between melo-death/metalcore, but i'd say it's mostly metalcore.

this was terribly disappointing. I love Fall of Ideals though, so it almost made this album even worse.

I don't think it's terrible, but yeah The Fall of Ideals is a hell of a lot better. That's probably my favorite metalcore album.
