Good review Thor. Even though I enjoyed this album far more then St. Anger, its still just same old, same old as far as Metallica goes. Sure they've brought back some of their old traits but thats all they have going for them on this album.

I think The Day That Never Comes is the best on here. I was a little underwhelmed with The Unforgiven III. It didn't really live up to the first two.

So I just picked this album up hahahaha (dirt cheap at Future Shop Woot). This is way more fun this time around. The packaging on this is really well put together.

Metallica fuses Master of Puppets with The Black Album and finally starts kicking ass again.

Agreed to that. I'm really starting to enjoy this album, besides the vocals/ lyrics. My favourite off here is their single 'The Day That Never Comes'. I can't get enough of that song, especially the end build that is probably the best thing they've written in 20 years.

The reason I love that song is because it was such a nice surprise when I heard it on the radio for the first time at work. That was the first track off this that really had my heart beating that Metallica was somewhat back hahaha.

Also the video....I really thought it was meh......I mean it had a good story line to it and I almost thought that the woman was gonna get wasted but it didn't happen. We've been through some similar situations like that before, not always the same outcome (By the way as of today I only have about 2 weeks left in Baghdad then USA BOUND! GAWD DAMM IM PUMPED)

But being in the military you can't help but pick apart things in the video that aren't to standard. I think that the director should have done a little more research.....those Marines would not be travelling in a lone truck, rather than an unarmored one and they for sure would be wearing their helmets (the one that did had his helmet cover on backwards too) The Marine that sustained an abdominal wound would NOT be sitting up, as well as a few other things. But they did do a good job of establishing a perimeter.......I'm kinda being a hater but thats just my two cents.

I am soaking in all that is Death Magnetic....It has exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be happier.This Message Edited On 09.14.08

i thought the video was rather bad actually.

it was completely predictable, had nothing at all to do with the lyrics and just seemed like metallica was sayin "we support our troops and feel what they are going through". nothing wrong with that, but making a video about it just seems meh.



and i dont really think that a woman would just start slowly walking toward a fuckin nervous looking marine with a gun. thats just me i guess
