Same, I've never understood why people didn't like it. Its fine if they don't, just hasn't made sense to me yet

Every time I listen to this I just get so pissed off at the production. Like is this a pop album or a metal album? Guitar tone is so horribly dry it hurts

This is better than the 3.5 I’ve had for it I believe, alias is also criminally underrated by me, so are many of these songs, they were trying here, lol

I don't know if it was because this came out at the time I was moving away from listening to metal or something like that, but this album signals the end of In Flames for me. Very mediocre.

Relistened to their whole catalog a while back and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. I liked it back in the day, but the sheer negativity surrounding it from the metal community influenced my thinking. Great melodies throughout and lots of variety. It's a shame Anders was arguably at his low point here -- that half-singing-half-screaming thing he did on this and SOAPF does not sound good at all.

I think this is their most creative album post-Clayman while still implementing some great riffage. Imagine what this album would sound like if it had the same guitar tone and production as that of Clayman, there would be less hate overall I think.

I mentioned this in another IF thread somewhere, those hybrid vocals he created really do not work.

Way better than SOAPF. Shame about the vox and production.
