I listened to this throughout halfway and I just stopped it. One of the worst metal albums I've listened to.

The new vocalist kills it; most of the time it sounds like he belongs in a completely different genre. The yelling intro in Anoint the Dead is pretty cheesey too. Flo is great here as usual, but occasionally gets repetitive and drowns out everything else.This Message Edited On 07.21.08

Honestly, I didn't think this album was all that bad and I don't really listen to deathcore...Not actively anyways.

I'm into Cryptopsy, but I'm no die-hard fan...A an album on it's own, I really don't see how people could rate it so low, a 2?...While I can see your points without too much hesitation, is a 2 really accurate? The vocalist seems pretty fitting for this new style they've taken on and musically, while it may be a little more forward, it's still sound...Or at least, I would think it is.

Flo has stated a few times that the breakdowns aren't intentional so much, they're just "musical parts." And I can understand that, I don't think they would suddenly adapt to this mentality of being "heavy," by incorporating random pig squeels and breakdowns that all these Deathcore bands seem to take on.

While there are some things in excess (keys come to mind, clean vocals are somewhat oddly placed and not exactly appropriate.) I thought the album was maybe a 3-3.5...I'm pretty partial to clean vocals since the transitions often suck and are just generic high pitched vocals, but this was at least a change from that. Not sure...Just my thoughts, personally. Then again, None So Vile was decent at best for me, as most Cryptopsy albums have been; just a few songs themselves that stick out to me.
