I used to be a huge fan of Stutterfly, the band that the majority of the band was in before this lol. Back in the emo phase.
Anchors and Vanishings are definitely standouts here

here after listening to ERRA's new track that had elements that sounded like S&W. This still rips.

really wish this guy became saosins singer after cove as was rumored at the time. he has such a phenomenal voice

He really does. Their second album was good but not as much for some reason.

i think the increased production value on the second album takes away from the rawness the band captured with this album. sometimes immaculate or high-quality mastering takes an edge away from music.

Teenage Fantasy was great instrumentally, maybe even better than this one. But the hooks just weren't as nearly catchy or memorable overall. It's still a solid album though (except for the bonus track). GWW has really stood the test of time.
Furney would've really made a great vocalist replacement for Saosin. Those guys really shot their career in the foot when they kicked Cove out without a replacement lined up.

Damn I really wish they would. Shreddy Krueger was alright, but didn't scratch the same S&W itch. Jordan's clean vocals could be a nice addition to S&W's sound.

never listened to ShreddyKreuger, only heard the name. Had no idea it was mostly the same dudes

Yeah three of em.
The bass tone on this album is so sick. Songs like "The Actress" wouldn't be the same at all without it.

Shreddy has a pretty good cover of This Could Be Anywhere in the World

This was better than anything Saosin came out with. It's a shame they broke up and that the following up album didn't live up to this.

First album and EP are on par with this I'd say.

translating the name tops this and pretty much anything else that sounds like it but this is on par w bug album. less interesting guitar/drum work generally balanced out by a way better singer than cove
|
| |
Yeah always preferred these guys over Saosin
