It's up there for sure. For now I like the opening run/first half the most.

Think I narrowly prefer the back half myself - that run from "One Great City!" through "The Prescience of Dawn" is hard to beat, and the latter is my favorite track here

It's close but for now what are probably my 3 least favorites (still great songs) are in that back half.
Also, do all the songs encased in parentheses all have the same chord progression or at least very similar melodies, or am I imagining things?

the parentheses songs are 3 variations-on-a-theme sonnets that might as well be considered a suite or whatever, but suites are for prog abums and nerds so let's not. weakest for me is probs the mid-section, though still good - which 3 dya mean boney?

Alright glad I'm not just making it up. That's pretty cool though tbh because all 3 of those have quite different sounds. Coincidentally though 2 of those 3, "(Hospital Vespers)" and "(Past-Due)" and in my 3 least favorites and the third is "Uncorrected Proofs". Opening 5 tracks is an insanely strong run but New Name through Prescience is very close behind.

Time's Arrow very underrated - that's really the song that made me fall in love with The Weakerthans

Any way after 4 spins this is definitely at least 4.5 level but I want to hold off on rating it for the potential satisfaction of giving it a 5 as my initial rating.
