It definitely makes me hope that Watchtower finally gets around to finishing that third album.

Cool. I'll be wait to read what you think of it...

Haha, I wasn't going to write anything but I'm taking your bait.
Album is spectacular, I really had no idea that these three musicians (particularly Webster who I am most familiar with) had these kinds of chops. And I love how there are a bit of keyboards in the mix too, it really makes the music sounds special.

If you weren't going to come back and say what you think of it then why would you announce that you were going to check it out??? ;) I was definitely surprised by Alex Webster's playing on this. It gave me respect for him as a musician that wasn't really there before. Have you heard Watchtower, ha ha.

I am definitely considering giving them a shot, and even Spastic Ink. But speaking of, is Watchtower exactly like this? Or does it have vocals too?

Haha, damn you have a review for everything! I'll let you know when I listen.

Well, I have written 175 reviews in just over two years, so.... Anyway, you don't really need to read the review. Just go to their myspace page and find the songs from Control and Resistance (since it's the one with all of the critical acclaim).

Oh my, I just checked their Myspace and the vocals are such a deterrent. I doubt I'll be able to enjoy this, and it seems to be a major problem when I was looking through your thread.

You have to really make an effort to finally get into that album.
|

You're absolutely right, given how great the music is I don't think I'll give up.

I love it now. I think I've even grown to enjoy the vocals.

Just ordered this. Have had it on my computer for six months or so but it's too awesome to not have in my collection. As has been mentioned, Alex Webster is really impressive here but they're all pretty much at the top of the game at what they're doing.
Also, anyone who hasn't heard Ron Jarzombek in Gordian Knot (band of Cynic's Sean Malone) should check out his solo in the song 'Rivers Dancing'. ...Just godly.

This rules. I usually don't go for instrumental albums, but this is an exception.

Oh yeah, and thanks to Wiz for recommending this to me like 2 years ago lol.

albums good; its just gets all blended together and shit. i can honestly say the part of this is the bass playing; then its the drums. jarzombek isn't doing anything special on the guitar
