Haven’t heard this but “New Years” (the Seam version) is great yeah.

Their pea version is cool too.
edit: Wait, it's not the same song. Ignore what I said.

It’s an interesting case too because “New Years” is a Sooyoung Park composition but the Codeine version was released first.

Been finally jamming this the last week or so. Lots of good stuff but def some low points too ("Second Chance" is pretty bad).

amazing depression

An album of pure grey depression, but strangely beautiful in it's way. It's almost like early 90's indie crossed with doom metal; slow, narcotic, benumbing, agonizing. The endless feedback provides a soothing, haunting quality. If you are too fond of their namesake and associated more hardcore acts, this is good dope sick music. It encapsulates the lethargy, depression, freezing sweats; the endless time. Buzzov-en's "To A Frown" is a good companion piece. Just keep the scarves away from the doorknobs and the guns locked up in the cabinet.

I mean, you could make a decent case for them being not too far removed from the softer end of doom/drone metal. They’re def one of the heaviest of the early slowcore bands.
