I think it's not an exaggeration to say that he belongs in the conversation for the best metal vocalist. [2] One of the few acclaimed Heavy/Power Metal singers which I can say deserve their praise.

Still need to listen to Imaginations, don't know why I've been holding out out on that for so long

I'd put both Tommy Karevik and Roy Khan over him tbh [2] But I'd pick them over any power metal singer and a lot of vocalists in general, so... that doesn't downplay the capacity of this guy at all.

I'm not really a huge fan of Karevik at all. Khan is awesome but I think Hansi still has the edge.

Picking a favorite among Karevik, Khan and Kürsch is like picking a favorite Blind Guardian album, but it's Khan for me in the end. All of them are top 10 favorite singers for me.

I'll take Karevik over Khan any day of the week, fucking incredible voice and has so much charisma with how he belts and natural swagger. I'd even take him over Hansi.

For sure. '90s Guardian is the best thing ever. From the music, to the lyrics and the artwork, it doesn't get more fun.

ye, dunno why, but this is one of the few bands dealing with such themes that i actually enjoy. i don't dig their '00s stuff though.

You can mask a Justin Bieber album as epic, make him sing about swords and sorcery, put a wizard in the cover and I might enjoy it haha. It's how my mind works.

But yeah I'm not the biggest fan of their symphonic sound either; feels like they lost their edge. It's still quality but doesn't ave the same magic as their earlier stuff.

Personally, I wouldn't use the word disappointed because I expected the album to sound like it did, more or less. A less grand approach would be very welcome though.
