I think this will grow on me like Vheissu did. I must say at the moment I do prefer Fire to Water.

Sorry about the massive length. I had a lot to say. Since it's big I probably missed a lot
of typos / grammatical errors so be patient. I'll fix them.
If you want the album now go here: http://worshipandtributemedia.blogspot.com/
OMG THANK YOU. I love you dfelon.

My copy came in today, so I'm happy.
Plus it makes up for the fact that Halo 3 didn't come in until two days after it came out.

AHAHAHAHA. I just read the absolutepunk.net review of this album. Check this out:
"The Messenger" greatly benefits from its electronic flourishes and "The Arsonist"'s bridge uses really cool distortion and chorus effects a la the guitar riff in "The Shape of Punk to Come" by Refused to bring back life into the song before the crushing outro.

The production on both Fire and Water is spot on and an excellent screen to filter Thrice’s creative vision. Like Refused’s The Shape Of Punk To Come, the production is used to enhance certain segments instead of making it sound like the same recycled songs over and over. When the mix suddenly drops into low-fi mode during “The Arsonist”, Kensrue screaming in what sounds like a large echoic room acts as a unique addition adding a quality of originality into an already interesting piece.
The similiarities don't end there though.

Whatever to them. The dude said he hadn't read my review so it's all good. I'm sensing
that the way people talk about certain bands and albums are just becoming too
homogeneous. I spent a lot of my previous review talking about the Deftones, Isis, and
Pelican influences. Not too many other Vheissu reviews I read talked about post-
metal. Now it seems as if reviews for the new album mention it, mine included. Certain
ideas pick up steam in the reviewing world for whatever reason. This Message Edited On 10.15.07

I love this album, and I love digital sea. the chorus is killer. Thrice has done it again

Im a huge fan of Thrice's first 4 albums, but then I kinda lost them with Vheissu with the exception of a few songs. I still respect the band and like that they want to try to new things but for the most part I just cant really get in to it. Still I give this a 3.5 because of talent. Oh yea and whats this doing in the punk section anyway??

Ya there last was a pooper compared to their perivous ones, but this one is probably their best.

I think that Vheissu is Thrice's masterpiece, the pink of perfection of their matured sound. I'll see whether their new output can stick with that, buying it in a few hours.

I'm thinking four is a fair score for this. There is nothing really at fault here it's just not good enough to me that go any higher.
