Ok here goes..

I like both Load and Reload, and think "Sad But True" from Black is one of their finest songs.

This album doesn't click for me, but I actually love the production. It's greasy.

Pos hard.

If the album had good production I would probably like it. Frantic is perfect for when you're pissed off.

I knew this album was different when I first got it a while ago, but damit! I listened to a song today after a long time of gathering dust and it sounds like it was recorded through a telephone. I wish I never learned about this loudness wars thing. This album wasn't anything special by any stretch of the imagination but now I hear things differently

This album >>>>>>>>load and reload.

St. Anger, Frantic and Dirty Window automatically make this album ten times better than that garbage.

But the drums seriously sound like pans and pots.

That's all apart of the classic home garage ANGRY sound that producers around the world were searching for.

But it sounds like shit. It perhaps single-handily makes this album worse than Demolition.

If this album were produced at least decently it could have been seen as a huge Metallica comeback. It sounds like it has the potential to sound absolutely huge and invigorating but yes the production prevents that from happening.

I like how it sounds angry but still isn't that good

The production is awful but the songwriting isn't much better either. They should be angry with themselves tbh.

These could've been the songs to revitalize the band, but they ruined them with shit lyrics and incessant repetition

[2]. They should have made lyrics similar to the ones on Ride the Lightning through ...And Justice for All. That certainly would have greatly improved the album alone.

I don't know the whole record, but damn the title track is one of my Metallica favs. And I'm one out of 7 billion, but I really like that drums for some reason

The riff is cool on that track, but literally everything surrounding it kills it

It really works in all its weirdness. Hetfield's barking, Ulrich's strange drum performance (no rhythm is good rhythm, at least here) and that damn 7 min monotony. It's insanity done in the right way
