Also, judging by the iTunes preview the other three songs are the instrumentals heard in the documentaries.

Wondering how long it'll be before everyone starts blaming Markus Vanhula. Honestly it sounds so much less tired than the last album and just does everything right.

Lyrics are pretty meh too, which is something I never thought I'd say. What happened to the sad, poetic lyrics?

I don't think Markus is to blame, I think it's the shift towards giving Ville Friman a lot more of the songwriting job, because obviously the songs he writes are a lot more aggressive, generic, and upbeat. Niilo used to do quite a bit of the songwriting iirc but on One For Sorrow he only did a few tracks.

Did Niilo write 'Lay The Ghost To Rest' by any chance? That was easily the best song on that album for me.

I believe he did. He also wrote the title track.

The title track was amazing. Easily one of Insomnium's best songs.

The fire could not be tamed with the wind

Or the wind suppressed by the flames

As blending the light with the dark

Merely results in grey
