Most of CCR's music isn't as good as many assume. Generally it's the singles that are the bands best stuff. Their compilation release is the best way to listen to these guys.

I do agree that for the most part their hits are their best songs, but this album in particular is made up of like half hits, and the other half really good non-hits, so this one has very few flaws in my view

a lot of it feels like very plain and by the numbers blues rock with no real unique personality outside of Fogerty's vocals tbh

It's a cover of a well known rockabilly hit from the 50's originally by Roy Orbison
the kind of shit that used to play in 50's ice cream parlors

Ooby Dooby is borderline unlistenable

yeah for real lol
doesn't help that it's sandwiched between two other fairly plain blues rock songs. This does of course have some classics on the second half though

While I agree that Ooby Dooby is the albums worst, don't you talk shit about Lookin' Out My Back Door Colton

I can see some criticism for Ooby Dooby and My Baby Left Me, everything else is classic in my book though
