yeah idk i'm kinda ambivalent about his vocals most of the time, but sometimes the music as a whole makes up for it. the guy on this just fucking bothers me.

Well, this is by far my favourite DT album. They kind of lost their magic after this. I really like Charlie's voice, I cant imagine this jewel of an album with any other voice. In fact, I consider their top three albums to be this one, followed by Awake, followed by Images.
Yeah, I know I'm in absolute minority here, just don't care. The songs on this one are really amazing.

LaBrie sounds so bored on the last albums. Although he still has a good voice. But he seems to be some kind of "ok, let's get it done already and get the hell outta here"

No hard feelings for LaBrie, I like his voice and truth be told I also enjoy the recent material released by the band (not in big doses though). Yet, I appreciate Dominici a lot more, he fits the music better and he is a powerhouse of hooks (Light Fuse And Get Away, Only A Matter Of Time, Status Seeker, A Fortune In Lies...).

dominici's vocals make me chuckle a bit but i'm not the biggest fan of high-pitched "power metal vocals" anyway. i'm not saying labrie would be that much better

labrie is very nice when slow & low, he's actually quite wonderful on The Human Equation (an Ayreon album), but his aggressive vocals are bad and sound like he's trying too hard and his high notes are just painful
and yeah power metal sucks, including vocals
