The whole thing is basically getting your ass kicked for 40 minutes. Totally rules.

Best part of the album, and the solo after it. Was that Mikael playing that solo?
If it's the part around nine minutes you mean then yup, Akerfeldt did that mini-solo.

Listened to this 3 times fully, but its hard not to get distracted and listen to all of it at once. I got Crimson II but as one whole, I thought it was supposed to be split into 44 parts. Also good.

Crimson II is one whole song but apparently Crimson has been sold as a single in some stores, so as a sort of jab at them he split it into 44 parts, and nine chapters. If you bought the album it should be in 44 parts, but if you downloaded it, it could be one song, nine songs or fourty-four.

As for me, I made it into nine songs, as having 44 was ridiculous.

I downloaded it as one whole song, 44 does seem ridiculous. I can split it into 9 songs though.

lol, Crimson and I disagree about Crimson II being heads above this. Still pretty amazing that I think this is still a 4.5. I agree with Will about the production quality. I like the raw saw it gives off, but I would've loved if the guitars would have been just a tad higher.

It obviously isn't, it's meant to be 42 minutes long.

Is it possible that he posted under the wrong album?
I hope so, cause that's the only excuse you have kattun ;)

Well...murder divided was the Japanese Bonus Track so he could mean that. Though with his rating it's prob just a terribly dumb joke.

I just got a hold of moontower, it so different! Much like Symbyosis, it was just such a refreshing and engaging listen. And it's a decade old! lol
Has Dan done any other albums by himself?

Just to stay on topic, Edge of Sanity broke up a WHILE ago right? But I swore I heard/read something somewhere about them getting back together(?). Maybe it was just for a tour...

This was actually the original line-up's last album together. Dan got a bunch of his friends together for Crimson II. I haven't heard anything else about it.
