It was good yeah.
I know I will be crucified for this but I do prefer sad, sad, sad Cave.

I might have said this in all the threads by now, but yeah this might be my favourite. They are all the best. The end. I do like the slightly more concise nature of this one, causes me to play it more often (yes, even 5 minutes makes a difference).

I've heard the first 8 albums plus the most recent 2 and the only one I'd take this over is Kicking Against the Pricks. Just failed to grab me at all. Will have to give another jam soon for a refresher.

After careful deliberation (lasting two years apparently, lol) this is almost certainly my third fave Cave, it has beaten out "Let Love In". Sleepers exist, but they haven't usurped "Henry". This is official!
The comparatively concise nature and lean af set of offerings here cannot be overlooked. Songs such as "Christina", "Loom" and even "Straight to You" may not have been initial favourites yet they quietly represent some of his better material. It's easy to lose sight of this after the barnstorming opener "Papa" perhaps, but this is a damn consistent and balanced whole. "Let Love In" has the highs combined with a couple of (relative) clunkers / throwaway cuts imo
