Yeah, I think as a whole this album is a step above those two. This alongside Exile On Main Street are definitely my top two Stones records.

A song like Brown Sugar certainly couldn't be written today.
Having said that, it rocks damn hard. Many of their 60's/early 70's openers do.
Bitch could've influenced thrash imo. Damn heavy.
