i'd go
In Absentia>Stupid Dream>Signify>Deadwing>FOABP
but to be honest they're all definitely good, so comparing them's kind of a waste. it's like comparing Opeth albums "just HOW excellent is it, really?"

SMS over Stupid Dream... Blasphemy.

Mine would be In Absentia > FOABP > Stupid Dream > Deadwing > Lightbulb Sun > Sky Moves Sideways > Signify.
But don't quote me on it.

If SMS is better than Signify, I must get that one for sure. And I think Signify is excellent if you ask me.

Sky Moves Sideway is extremely awesome, but it's their most pretentious. It's very much like Pink Floyd, lots of endless instrumental segueing.
Signify will probably be my next purchase from them cuz I can't find Lightbulb sun anywhere.
By the way, is Lightbulb Sun out of print or something?

Yes, but it's coming as a 2008 re-release in April.

Oh, that's awesome. I'll get it as quick as I can when it's out then, because currently, I can't find it for any price cheaper than 70 dollars.

btw Bodom, are you sure you can handle the anti-religious messages on Signify :D
Would be a shame if not, cause there are more or less instrumental segueing going on. Just a little darker.

Pretty much my impression of pre-Signify PT after hearing a few songs.

Well, i've been questioning my religion lately, so I don't think anti-christian themes
would bother me at the moment. Though that was what initially put me off from
getting that album 6 months ago.

i don't think it's actually antichristianity as much as anti-sheep herd mentality
I think it criticises organised religion and not the existence of God himself.

Ansenthesize is one of my favorite songs.
Also:
I think it criticises organised religion and not the existence of God himself.
If this is true I agree completely with it, being a non-religious Christian.

Anesthetize is an incredible song. One of their best.
I absolutely adore Voyage 34 but maybe its because I also like hallucinogenics.

bought this for 7 quid, and it is worth so much more!!!
brilliant quality prog rock/metal, making it some of the most interesting music out there... really!
and your review pretty much sums up the album perfectly, except i feel this is Classic material... "Anesthetize" includes moments of pure prog rock, Opeth heaviness, and also a Meshuggah-style riff. a band that is capable of that and makes it flow deserves praise.
