This album is kinda lame tbh :/ Most of it is rubbish although a few songs are really good.

gently is the only worthwhile thing that came out of this, and it was vastly improved on Iowa

by a few song i basically meant "do nothing/bitchslap" and "slipknot". I'm not really all that keen on either gently song.

For a long time I thought "Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat." was an extremely under rated album, but this forum makes me think quite the opposite. Here's how it is; Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. is a pretty good album, but it is not better than Slipknot's other albums. Corey is a better vocalist than Anders, hands down, and why is everyone hating on Corey? if it wasn't for him no one would know who Slipknot is.

Quick review of the album

Slipknot - unnecessarily long and appart from the solo, (sic) is a lot better.

Gently - probably the best song on the album and is actually a very good song, although the Iowa version is better.

Do Nothing/Bitchslap - I have nothing against this song, it actually find it very funny.

Only One - yet another good song on this album, the version on Slipknot is faster and better produced so I probably perfer that.

Tattered & Torn - the version on Slipknot is lyrically better but this version is still good

Confessions - a pretty good song but wouldn't be as good without the solo

Some Feel - I dunno why, but I'm just not feeling this song. It's alright but it doesn't have a memorable riff like the other songs.

Killers Are Quiet - this song is too long, and Iowa which is assentially a remake of this is a better listen. (btw, this song is actually 20: 44, it has a hidden track "Dogfish Rising" which is 9 minutes) This is nothing but filler to me.

Though this is not a bad album, Slipknot's work with Roadrunner is better, but people are right in saying they were a different band back then.

My point is you guys are way over rating this album, it is not Slipknots best by far, and stop hating on Corey, he's a lot better than Anders and you know it.

Listened to all the songs via YouTube. Pretty good, better than their first two big-label releases.

The album was pretty disapointing mainly because Corey Taylor wasnt in it.

I like this album mainly because of the bass, but I enjoy Self Titled a bit more.

I can't decide which of those two i prefer. I really like both. I'd probably go with the self titled as well
