IDK about dark but It's moody. The chords and melodies are fairly modal and not typical of pop. Heaven or Las Vegas is more conventional.

Yeah I recall one of them dissing it as "pre-rafaelite" like the realistic paintings. Whatever that comparison is supposed to mean. I'll never understand the pushback against lots of great music.

The only dark CT is their debut imo (and parts of the second one). This is ethereal and angelic, a bit like Enya's stuff but less majestic and more dreamy. Anyway great stuff can't understand the hate from the band. Does anybody have a link to the interview in which they say it? Or at least can tell when it was?
