Adam Gontier's voice was literally designed by the radio heavens in order to sing in a band exactly like this... Really strong, incredibly appropriate.

I remember the kids in school who listened to this band.. they all had all-black skater sneakers, acne, dainty shoulders and angry step-dads..

Lol you just described 90% of the high school population! (100% if you take the stepdads out of the equation).

the kids who listened to jesus lizard wore boots, put out more, and had better drugs though.. they had killed their step-dads over the summer and were much happier..

easy to listen to and really gets me in my temporary emo mood, pain and time of dying are definitely my highlights

The nostalgic value of this album still holds up surprisingly well.

Not exactly the best band out there but One-X is their best album. Been jamming it lately.
But after listening to that garbo album Human, I didn't even bother with Outsider. The few tracks I did listen off of that just put me to sleep.

Albums like this are why I'll probably never write a review for this site; I just can't do with being chastised by low-life, neck-beard basement dwellers who swear by the low-fi-est of low-fi black metal or whatever genre that the pretentious masses claim as being "intellectual" despite probably failing basic English and maths classes.

I listened to this a lot about 8 years ago and I fucking loved it, so I guess my rating is based off nostalgia.
even though pain, gone forever and on my own are pretty bland or overly angsty lyrically, they still have a catchy enough sound. Pain especially.
There are also a couple of cringeworthy moments on here, but there's just something about the sound that is simultaneously catchy and memorable.
I agree with the bass and drums comment, they could have been utilised more.

This was their best album though, the flow between tracks is pretty good too, and is a bit more complex and standout than their debut as well.

I mean say what you want about the utilization, this album's drum production (and its follow up too) is fucking god tier.
