He was doing it before alot of metal artists started diving into the genre, he did it more primitively. This however, sucks!

I dont think this album is bad at all. The haunting and hypnotic melodies that have been with burzum since the start are all present and correct. Just goes to show that virtually nothing can stop you from making music, if you really do want to make music.

Apples and oranges. This isn't background music. This isn't really ambient. This is the story of Baldur - on keyboard. The Neoclassical Darkwave tag fits this piece better. It sounds like some have said: 90s RPG game music in a way. Which to me isn't a bad thing at all because I love a lot of that stuff. This is underrated because it came out after Filosofem and was a curveball and pissed off a lot of black metal enthusiasts probably. Forget about all that and you will probably enjoy this if you like dark video game music or you like Norse mythology.
