funny I saw the record store next town over had a copy of the original LP where you were supposed to play each of the two records at the same time like a month or so back unfortunately never made it in to the shop was genuinely interested in grabbing it depending on the price even though I have no means of playing two LPs simultaneously

didn't know this repress was imminent though seriously might have to get a copy

makes sense now that I think about it, but didn't realize "Loose"/"Red" were the added tracks to this version/repressing... just fooled me 'cus not really typical to put the added content at the front of the record instead of at the backend

really gotta make a point to spend some more time with the individual unmixed discs of this... Disc 1 (Drone) by itself not unlistenable or unpleasant... very good (dark) ambient/drone/noise piece if you like that stuff

and Disc 2 (Evil) by itself really allowing me to more fully appreciate some very gorgeous guitar and tones (still appears to have some drone going on even without its Drone companion)

Alright I'll bite and give this a spin. Is this a good starting place for Boris? I've only ever heard their stuff with Sunn.

generally the ~20 minute track lengths make it inaccessible for the average joe but def not a bad place to start if you like Sunn

pretty sure this most recent repress means it went up and became available on streaming services from which (by the sounds of it) I assume it was absent before that... that'll be this new repress version though with the two discs already mixed/combined together so you won't have the option to play each one individually or mix them yourself (I don't think most listeners have a desire to do either of those things though, so that'll probably be just fine)

the new repress includes the original two (four?) tracks, has "Loose"/"Red" which were added when this was first repressed/rereleased years and years ago, and now has an additional added track as well which I believe is a version of a preexisting song of theirs

yeah I believe so... I imagine it may have been caving to popular demand because people (once they know) generally only want to listen to the combined version and most probably didn't want to be bothered with any of the multitude of ways in which one could go about listening to it that way (I think the two discs were also meant to stand alone as well, but most typically ignore/have no desire to listen to them individually)

I still think that the intended way to listen to the two discs mixed/combined as one is probably on totally separate systems/stereos, but like I said, I think they finally released it this way just 'cus it's probably what the people wanted
