They're basically doing right everything Mastodon does wrong (which is a lot). My only problem with these guys is that they're way to repetitive with their riffs.

Reviewer should be literally beaten for this review. Easily one of the best albums of all time.
BTW, do us a favor Hamburgerman and stay away from industrial influenced bands like Gojira and Neurosis and keep your "too repetitive" comments to yourself. If you don't like the aesthetic then just ignore it.

I really like the concept of complete saturation. I just come to a different conclusion.. mushy at first, for sure. But I just find Gorjira rewarding in a way unlike others.

These guys may not have the raw tenacity and speed of bands like SYL and Converge, but if you want heaviness, you can't go wrong with these guys.

You know when writing music you are going to incorporate the styles of music that influence your playing. So, yeah. They may sound like a mix of Meshuggah, Mastodon, Cave In, and Morbid Angel...but they only take parts of these bands styles to make their own. As far as songwriting goes, this album is full well-written songs. This review just sounds like a guy that wanted to make kids cry.

The Way of All Flesh owns this in every way. This album has it's high lights, but it is very difficult to listen to the whole thing in one sitting.

The Way of All Flesh runs 20 minutes too long. That's the only difference I can see between the two.
|
| |
well yeah, the last track is too long, but other than that it is a much more streamlined approach to the sound on FMTS.
and fuck man, 10K posts, how are you not a contrib/mod/staff guy yet?

Agreed with the more streamlined approach, I do enjoy that aspect to the album. And I don't think you can qualify for contrib/mod/staff guy based solely on posts made hahahaha.

But you write great reviews and you're not a douche. Surely you could become a contributing reviewer?

Thank you very much dudes, I really appreciate it. I don't really care for a status on this site, it would be meaningless to me. I would rather hold a good reputation instead of being looked up at for a simple tag strung above my user-name.
