Just imagine how Opeth would sound if they did a black metal record.
The creative riffs. Very melodic with a dark atmosphere. Long songs with plenty of acoustic interludes. Amazing vocals(clean and harsh). It's all here.

well the other things i simply disagree with. i don't think this has a dark atmosphere at all, especially when compared to their next album. aren't all riffs creative in one form or another?
i mean i don't mean to be a dick or anything and i do see your point but in the same way opeth and just about any band that has long songs and acoustics can be compared and i just think it's a moot comparison.
but i do understand your point. :]

I think Enslaved would be a better comparison for a black metal Opeth sound, newer Enslaved anyway.

Yeah that's definitely more comparable than this. Moonsorrow and Opeth have nothing in common other than the fact that they have long songs and use acoustics sometimes, like Noctus said.
