That's a great one. December Flower for me probably, that main riff is just melodeath personified.

Dead Eternity is my jam, but I like the version on Subterranean more.
I wish there was an Anders version of Biosphere just to hear what it'd be like, that's probably my favorite melodeath song ever.

wow, of course i didn't know they were in my city last week and they played moonshield, which they haven't done in like 10 years. that song is worth the price of admission alone smh

Not really. I love Moonshield but I didn't go to their gig as well, one and a half songs (Jester's Dance) are not enough to spend 50 €

yeah, no way i would pay that much for one or two good songs and a bunch of shitty ones. plus Anders is just garbage now. he was never great but at least he used to be passable.

Can't say that I agree with the Anders hate on these older albums, especially this one. Anders provided us four very aggressive albums' worth of performances in a row. It's obvious that the instrumental work on these albums was the highlight but if we never got another album after Clayman, Anders would be remembered as the vocalist for one of the best metal bands of all time.

do they really neglect their old shit that badly when they play live?

Yes, anymore they really do. I honestly feel that this band has, for the most part, put this era of music behind them and is content with keeping it in the memory box. Maybe out of respect for what it was and can't do it anymore or just because they flat out don't want to.

They seem to have resurrected "Moonshield" which they haven't played since 2006.

90% of the songs they perform live have been post Colony since like 2008

2009 had nice sets including Artifacts, Embody, The Hive and others.

2015 they played a bunch of old songs on Daniels good-bye tour. But usually it is R2R onwards + Only for the Weak and in the best case one other old song (Bullet Ride and Hive in general)

It was a slippery slope when they started playing these old songs without the solos live.

Only for the Weak sounds really bad nowadays, too. I saw the version from their newest live DVD and the tempo of the song is different now and Anders just has the audience sing the harsh parts. The chorus is also sped up for some reason.

And Bjorn doesn't play the leads during the verses.

So this is pretty cool then...

It's super melodic but there's enough here to satisfy my cravings for heaviness as well & some of the interludes are a nice change up.
