Clockwork Angels is incredible and ended with one of their best songs. Honestly this seems like the best move, I mean the guy is suffering from medical problems for insanely complex drumming for 40+ years. Retiring is probably the best option, and it doesn't necessarily mean he won't keep making music in some way or another.
