On a purely surface layer, sonic level, I enjoy listening to Damn more than MM. It has higher highs like DNA, Yah, Element, Duckworth, XXX, despite stinkers like Love. Morale just really doesn’t have peaks for me. The closest would be some of those piano moments with Kodak doing beat poetry on top, as weird as that seems.

Man, I have some bad Kendrick takes lol
I loved the single version of i. That being said, I am glad that the album version kinda subverts its placement into a climactic skit.
Also, LOVE. is a banger and I'm tired of pretending it's not

Die Hard is a better love song than the actual LOVE song

I HATE it. Lol it’s just the most sugary melodically samey pop drivel that a ton of other Top 40 artists were doing at the time of release.

Oh it absolutely is, but it's still really fun and kinda intoxicating. It's his most naked attempt at a hit, probably, but he flows really well on the beat and there's something a little hypnotic about Zacari's vocals and the production. I was also working my first big boi job at the time with a bunch of recent college grads and that kind of music was around me a lot, and so I warmed up to radio stuff at the time.

nobody was riding those generic sugary beats quite so good

the real kendrick died in 2016, the rest has been his clone created by the music industry

Flows? Hell naw. The played out melodic triplet shit that literally any rapper could do and combined with the annoying “I wanna be wih u” refrain with Zacari’s juicy fruit ass singing style doesn’t do it at all. Mid af.

milliondeads the type of dude to be beside your aunt in a starbucks when she goes into anaphylactic shock and try to pull out an epipen from his bag but just ends up pulling out a series of increasingly large foam letters that spell out epipen

lmfao I have no idea what it means, but that made me laugh

yeah Love is smooth. people lose their minds when Kendrick doesn’t have anything conscious to say in a track
|

Album Rating: 3.5
Not true. It’s not the content, it’s just the sound. You want smooth? Listen to D’Angelo, Lauryn Hill, shit Kendrick even has songs like These Walls that ether Love.
Edit: Die Hard on MM even ethers Love.

We just gave Kendrick a Grammy for calling drake a pedophile so not being conscious isn't the issue.

The most important thing we all understand is JID > Kendrick

I think if it's not Kendrick for me it's either Tyler, Danny brown, or denzel curry

Based on recent output? JID being better is actually true. Overall, though, got to give it to Kenny still. The highs are just too high. JID definitely has the makings of an all timer though.
