THROW OUT ALL THE JOY AND SHOW ME METRICS FOR MY FAILURES
I LIVE IN MODERN TIMES GIVE ME A MODERN SENSE OF WORTH
i typically don’t listen to a ton of bands that are no longer together, to me there’s too much new music by bands still going that do need the support… but I’ll never completely drop this album from the rotation. I am gonna take a good long break from it, and all Foxing for that matter, but it still is literally my favorite album of all time. I love these guys so goddamn much.
If they come back in however many years and somehow manage to top this I’ll probably have a fucking stroke

Brass Tactics is a bop, def feels like it could've found a place on here (i guess before dead internet is what they were going for?)
LOVING Loving The Sun omg. feels like them spilling this album's chaos into DDTM
Broadcast is very Smidley, really pretty i dig

ehhh idk, I think the Hell 99 demo is pretty fire but I like the final version of pretty much every song more. The demos that didn’t get used are all pretty good but for one, I don’t think there’s much more space here, this clocks at just under an hour and I think that’s pretty much perfect, still feels substantial but doesn’t come close to overstaying its welcome, and for two I think the track sequencing is flawless and adding any more of those tracks would fuck with that. I used to think ending it on two “soft” songs was kind of a bummer but I don’t even really see Cry Baby as a full song atp, more of an epilogue to the whole thing, and their whole career I guess.
Besides I’m sure plenty of these, or at least parts of these, will make their way to Conor’s next Smidley record. I’m really curious what direction he’s gonna take that project. We only have two albums to go off of but I’m getting the feeling that he’s gonna do something wild with his third LP… I mean the self titled and Here Comes the Devil aren’t really that similar and Foxing never repeated themselves.
I’m scatterbrained asf rn, I’m still just so bummed these guys are done… for now (hopefully)

If anyone wants to do me an incredible solid, could you link me to a place to download the demos (like a personal Gmail drive)? I'm drying to hear these demos and b sides but have never had the patreon. My email is sowingsputnik@gmail.com.
