Band are doing a P!ATD/MCR style turn to capitalise on 00s emo nostalgia, mark my words

best case scenario is the EP was a test run / them working out the kinks

but the further we get from this album, the more i think the secret sauce was the female backing vocals all over it. they don't have that anymore and i think that kinda exposed how limited carson is as a clean singer on the EP... even if he's continuously improving.

hoping i'm proven wrong but idk

the female backing vox are nice on this but they hardly make the experience imo

This band always felt gimmicky to me, but I should try this again, it’s been a while

hot take, I love the mathy stuff but title track is their best song so I’m very down with that

Was a bit undecided about this album, saw them live at Download 24, didn't like it but I thought the sound was horrible.

So, just leaving a comment to say that I don't really care about these guys, which is always a nice thing to say.

Possibly my fav modern metalcore band. I know some people were down on the EP but its almost as good as tbis imo. Really great band.

Yeah I like the EP too, Pushing the Pink Envelope is just as good as anything here. Don’t really remember too much about Waco Jesus aside from the riff, like the closer a lot too tho. Solid stuff.

also want to point out to anyone who didn't know / remember... on top of the keyboardist being gone, they've also since replaced the drummer and lead guitarist from this album. there's videos of them rehearsing these songs exactly as is far over a year before the album released with the older lineup.

the EP is the only thing they've released with the current lineup that's done all the touring / appears in all the music videos.

Pretty sure Carson writes the majority of the music, so I wouldn't say lineup changes factor too much into the direction they go.

And I haven't actually heard myself that they are going more toward more singy/catchy stuff, but it is what I expect... Carson does have a Fall Out Boy superfan podcast
