Iron Maiden's album covers (and singles covers) are the absolute best in the industry. The attention to detail on Somewhere In Time is just mind boggling.

I would also have to put Killers, Beast, Live After Death, and The Final Frontier to round out my top 5.

It's just that I prefer more simplistic album covers that just do their job as... Well, album covers, a way to promote an album. If it gets too detailed I start to think of them as pieces of art rather than just promotional material, but they don't do their job as pieces of art very well. As promotional material, it's like killing an ant with a sniper rifle; as art, it's like trying to destroy Mount Everest with that same weapon. I appreciate the work, but it is not my kind of album cover.

Has it ever occurred to you that you're just putting too much thought into a neat album cover and that you should just appreciate it for the cyberpunk cheese?

Yes, it has. I spend a lot of time doing nothing but thinking about things, it is a bit common for me to put "too much thought" into a lot of things. I already felt the same way before thinking about it but I couldn't explain why; might as well spend a few minutes thinking about it to have an answer that isn't just "idk man im just not a big fan".

These days we all need a diagnosis. I suffer from luxury versions of schizophrenia and narcissism.
