i think the kol avg is spot on personally, 3.5 is GR8 after all

How is it .4 lower than HTTT though, seriously

I dunno, the first five KOL songs especially are really special, I think.

I don't particularly like Magpie or Little by Little
Lotus Flower through Separator is one of the best runs in their discog imo

hm well it has been said a million times, but httt does have some total shite but is balanced out by some of their best songs
but i'd put it and kol equal so

Yeah I get that but I almost cannot listen to HTTT in one go because it's just such a chore whereas TKOL is so easy to jam because it's so short

awhhhh but the bass in Magpie is so good and so different from their other stuff, and it has like my favorite spacey radiohead interlude. I guess Little by Little is probably the weakest of the first half, but I still love it. The last few songs are great, but they don't have the energy the first half does.

KoL is consistent as hell imo, not a single song i don't like on there. some days i like it more than rainbows.
HTTT is so inconsistent and has such gross production, i think it's av is too high on here. i think even the stand out tracks on there pale in comparison to average tracks on on the 2 records i mentioned :/

I just find Thom's vocals in Magpie so boring I don't think he even changes his range once throughout it, idk
Damn demi that's pretty harsh, A Wolf at the Door is one of my favourite RH songs
|
| |
good morning, mr. magpie, how are we today?
You know how you feel when you wake up in the morning? That's why he doesn't change his range.

I loved "Magpie", and I thought Thom was excellent. Have you heard the live in the basement version? It really comes to life there.

Are you saying they recorded that song when Thom had just woken up and couldn't sing for shit?
Because honestly that sounds like something they would do

Oh yes the Basement version is excellent, I own that DVD and love it

the vox on the first half of kol aren't the focus, which I guess is why you might not like it as much. I think Lotus Flower is a perfect happy medium.
|
| |
Ugh, no that's not what I'm saying.
He's showcasing the lyrical content with his voice.

Yeah that would make sense skeames, although I still love Bloom unconditionally
That wasn't 100% serious, guest

Also, "Magpie" is meant to be dreary and kind of repetitive. So Thom is trying to reflect that with his own performance.

I dunno man to me it just seems boring, even if it was intentionally boring it's still boring

@someguest it's not just the lyrical content, either. magpie captures that state of mind when you're slowly coming to life
and everything around you seems more chaotic and overwhelming than usual.
|
| |
Mhm, it's a great track. Far from boring.
