Not gonna lie, this album grows on me the more I listen to it. Doesn't hold a candle to Mantle or Ashes (and arguably Marrow), but I still enjoy it quite a bit and have been coming back to it a lot more lately.

my friend saw them at MDF and said they were awful live.
honestly I have no stomach for this band anymore. it feels very juvenile in a way that I just can’t get past. it was awesome when I was 16 but I feel like I grew out of their vibe a while ago.

nothing beats Falling Snow during the first snowfall of the year. Probably the most tasteful and deft use of clean vocals on a BM-adjacent track in like 20 years

everyone's 10 years older now. i believe the original split - outside of jon's facebook comments - were that jon always wanted to make the band larger, go worldwide, etc. but don and jacob didn't have the time for it, especially don who was working as a professor at the time
all that to say that it's quite possible that this re-united group write something. they just got done supporting emperor, ball's in their court now. i still cannot make it through the first song on this album without skipping it, it would be beautiful to hear them take another swing at a swansong
