That guitar riff is one of the most annoying things I've ever heard. I agree. I feel like I've heard something like it before but can't pinpoint where. But yeah it's annoying and stuck in my head.

Sounds like something that would be on a Vonage commercial

Yeah, but it could sound better in the album. I haven't given up on Everything Now, a review on the RYM page and that Pitchfork track review for Everything Now made me gain focus on why quintessentially I love the band so much; The sheer passion and youthful joy they put into (most) everything they record (minus I Give You Power)

I still hear that energy in Everything Now esp. and even Creature Comfort though I don't like the sound of it.

Really surprised they gave it BNT status. But knowing them the album could be a heaping pile of shit and it'll be 9.3 BNM

Ehh I started off liking it but now it's grown off me more and more. Maybe it'll grow later on in the year but the more I try to force myself to enjoy it the less I like it. I can see the appeal I guess but I'm just not feeling it right now.

Eh, I think their scores are usually fair, just a little predictable and often too poptimistic.

I do have to say I agree with them on the 9.2 for this album. I LOVE this album. And really besides them and Rolling Stone, no one really gave it a really high review.

new song is terrible and likely a perfect introduction to the album

Nah, this album got plenty of acclaim. Check the Metacritic hub for this, a load of positive reviews for it. It is a fantastic album indeed.

New song blows, Win sounds so weak on it and he never sounds weak. The political thing was done way better on Neon Bible too

Why'd you have to remind me of I Give You Power... that's like their worst song lol

Fits right along-side a Yeezus b-side. It's like Kanye discarded a beat and they were like we'll make this into a thing. Thankfully even though the new song isn't impressive, it's not nearly as dreadful as that track. If their new album was going to be EDM/trap based, you could count me out lol. Canadian hipsters write a protest song 5 minutes before Trump is sworn in

Sounds more like an LCD Soundsystem demo than a Yeezus b side but it is that bad

I never understood the love behind LCD Soundsystem. Their songs are like 10 minutes long but the feel like they're 35 minutes long and I'd have more enjoyment digging out my eardrums than to make it through a single song by them. Arcade Fire deserves a better comparison than that. I enjoyed the hell outta Yeezus and still do, but the beat sounds more like a Kanye brainfart than LCD Soundsystem.

The 'political' thing in Everything Now...? Where? You're reaching for something to get mad about, the lyrics are much more a critique of consumerist society than of directly political themes.

Power does blow and is their worst song by far.

If I had to take a guess it has to do with them being self aware that we spend money on them and they're aware and it all goes back to capitalism, which is usually based to conservativism (if I had to guess). But meh. I think that's quite a stretch to make in several different directions. That's the only tie I could muster up.

One can muster up politics into anything though. I just choose to try not to mix the two. Most of my musical favorites probably wouldn't like how I voted anyway. I just hope they don't build fences around their houses or have guest lists to their parties cuz that'd be hypocritical. Let em all in, give them shelter, and please feed them so they're not everyone else's responsibility. No telling the size of the castle Beyoncé has.

See I also made it into politics. It's all in how one views something and these days with cultures clashing and coming together, you can form whatever out of anything else. But I don't not like their new single based off that view. I just don't care for it because it's kinda derivative to other disco acts.

I do think it's interesting though at how it's like history repeats itself. Disco was more aimed toward people of color and homosexuals. It's kinda like we're doing the same thing today, which seems to be the liberal agenda. And I'm all aboard that train except for the fact I don't want to let in others that wanna fuck with their lifestyles, which is what some people wanna do. And then it's all a circle again.

Counter culture is everywhere, and it will continue to happen with the flawed two-party system we have. Republicans against democrats. Democrats against republicans until we have a level-headed person who's more independent we'll all be hurting because both parties wanna hurt the other party. You can give black eyes all you want but when we all have black eyes what do we do?
