Yeesh glad to have caught it before this implosion.

"Matt Tuck didn't want to" is wild.

Yeah Tuck changed his mind since he said they'd be going all over the world earlier - South America, Australia, Asia, etc.

Guess he doesn't like his own music, namely the album that made them famous lol

Yeah I'm not really sure what reason somebody could have for disliking Matt Heafy the man.

trivium has since made like 5 other albums people really really like and have easily transcended ascendancy's shadow at this point (they've even played entire live sets with zero ascendancy songs). this tour is was a full on victory lap celebration for them.

on the other hand, besides a couple huge singles on the later albums, nobody can truly say that about bfmv and the poison. "bfmv is playing their only good album in full!" was a super popular sentiment online and i could def see how that could get under tuck's skin given that album is 20 years old now. a dude with his apparent ego prob feels he's easily surpassed the poison, and having kicked out 2/3s of the members who played on that album he prob doesn't feel super nostalgic for that era either these days.

Yeah I think you're spot on. Still funny to see them (him) posting "we value our fans above all else" after reneging on the tour.

something you don't realize as a kid is how fucking tight the drumming is on this. double bass especially just pops so hard. sounds incredible.
