Is there anything as good as snuff on the rest of this album that I should check out or is it a waste of time to listen to this album

I don't like the band's nu metal stuff much, but that's probably because I don't like nu metal much anyway

honest thought, I wonder if more metal fans would accept Slipknot if they didn't have the whole mask image

All timing. As with any band, masks or not. Their music was pretty out there for the time. Although, the masks certainly went in their favour.

If you're too busy being stuck on the image, you're doing it wrong

True spirits, but image is just as important, whether your brain realises it or not

The masks are just a gimmick, I don't care that much I just pay attention to the music and lyrics.

They probably wouldn't have got where they are today without the image though.

Yeah they're not that remarkable musically, well maybe they are for nu-metal.

I really enjoy the drums in Devil in I because they're a 180 on how Joey plays.

He and Paul Gray were the best parts of the band and now they're both gone :/

Be interesting to see how the song writing holds up with the new release, like.

From the sound of these two singles, it seems like they're trying to return to their roots with moderate success. Hopefully the rest of the songs will be better than their names would suggest...

Maybe the image was important in 1999, but 15 years later, it should have little to no impact on how you feel about the music.

Pretty much every member of this band is super talented. Mick and Jim are both fantastic guitarists, and they create a specific sound that is undeniably Slipknot and so far, has really yet to be replicated. Obviously Joey was a beast on drums. Corey is an excellent vocalist (most of the time). Unfortunately, being as they are a metal band, the other member's talents get drowned out, but they are pretty great as well.
