calling takk a magnum opus is an actionable offence (and opus is 3rd declension neuter so --> opera)

Takk is a fine album but the writing was on the wall at that point in all honesty, Med Sud just emphatically followed through

(eventually) Kveikur was a based reemergence

This is the only competition for Amp by the way, easy top 2 TMV

Takk might not be a “magnum opus” but it is the best Sigur Ros album

Magnum opus kinda suggests it is if that’s your opinion

but no, Takk is not the correct answer

( ) is far more opus-y, and Agaetis is very clearly their best yesyes

i'm always mean to Takk tbh - it does have a lot endearing tracks and a couple of big highlights, and it does coast by pretty convincingly on vibes at points, but i don't think it's fair to what it does well to say it sets itself up as a magnum opus

i want a magnum

I can recognize that a band’s most agreeable magnum opus need not be my personal favorite. In this case I think I’d be hard to argue that Sigur’d be remembered for anything if not Agaetus (for a variety of reasons) but gimme Takk or () any day.

Vis-a-vis David Lean. Anyone in the world will tell you his magnum opus is LAWRENCE OF ARABIA. Myself included. But his best film is actually BRIEF ENCOUNTER 🙃

Is this more enjoyable than Deloused? Find out at eleven.

I'd say both are equally good, but this one is more cinematic and epic. The latin influence came full circle too

I wish TMV would write those epic spaghetti western esque riffs again, as they did so frequently on jere

All the latin influences are honestly a big part of why this is my fave TMV, feels pretty distinct in that regard for me

Starting with a 2.5, this has ultimately grown into a five for me. The definition of a grower for me

Ja Berlin please. Last time I saw them there someone threw a beer at Omar and he (understandably) stormed off. It was a weird way to end an otherwise lovely night.
