I actually tried to get my gf into this a while back, and she kept saying the vocals were 'hilarious.' It might be 'cause she's a girl (XD), but I don't know...I can kinda see where someone not very well acquainted with death metal (which she is) could think that. I think you should be used to the overall dark, evil, brutal atmosphere of death metal before you listen to this, because that's exactly what the vocals create on this album. It just wouldn't sound right if they were cleaner, more defined, etc.
