my issue with this is that it eliminates the need to truly intellectually challenge yourself with the artist's/act's vision. a lot of music is special and it will be ignored and excluded because of this system. it even ignores the value that a bad album can have. i rate my music based on an attempt at illustrating a piece of music's objective value based on how i feel/look at it. i enjoy it when an artist creates something great, so i will recognize it as great whether it has literally changed my life or not. it only focuses on albums that you REALLY like and ignores every other album that's really special. this system is not positive; it's negative. it fails to display the positives that a flawed album can objectively have if there is an attempt by you to recognize it. this system is intellectually deficient. it's not even a rating. it's a categorization by how much you give a fuck about an album instead of what's so great about an album. the idea of just slapping an album a 0.5 just because you personally don't give a fuck about it is stupid. you can perfectly comprehend what i like AND dislike by looking at my ratings instead of your stupid system which is just exclusive and negative
