That's right, that's on the radar too. My girlfriend seriously just brought this home on vinyl one day and I was weary, but open just due to ratings/opinions from users on Sput. It kicks so much ass that I've been meaning to check more, just been exploring other shit since then.

Oh no. What are they like? I'm going to listen anyway, but hadn't heard they are any different.

i find Lunar Strain to be decent. i dont think the riffs were up to par with the albums after it, but Stanne is definitely the better vocalist. id still recommend it to new IF listeners since its an interesting piece of their evolution and a lot of people think its one of their best. not sure how the average is so low considering that.

K, I will. I probably would have anyway if I dig the rest. I already k ow what In Flames I want nothing to do with fr getting comps in my late high school - college days. I hated on these guys so hard for so long. My first exposure to them was some shit song from either Come Clarity or A Sense of Purpose.

yeah, a very common sentiment among fans of their old stuff is that Reroute to Remain was their point of decline.

They had a maiden-tier streak of greatness for years, and then went off a cliff in the mid 2000's

it's wild how far ahead these guys were melodically from literally almost every other metal band. these guitar leads are just untouchable

It fit well for the time of its release. No one was doing anything all that impressive in the middle 00's. Dark Tranquillity was at their height, but that was also the time of Lamb of God's height and the many bands that sounded like them plus metalcore...
