Only a 4 so underrated. Who cares if it's long winded

I think is one of Opeth's most best albums. It was so different back then and still is today. The constant time signature changes I know can be a turn off for some people but if you listen to the entire album it comes together very nicely. "To Bid You Farewell" is still one of my favorite songs of all times.

This got me into Opeth in high school. There is definite bias.

This def has something special, the atmosphere is so haunting and enthralling... The Night And The Silent Water is amog my fav Opeth tracks, the acoustic parts are incredible. Same goes for Black Rose Immortal.

Yeah, I'm literally listening to The Night and the Silent Water right now haha. I remember Mike saying he hated that song and never wanted to play it live, so it was interesting that they decided to include in on the Roundhouse Tapes I believe. You might know but it was a song dedicated to his late grandfather. The panned vocals on, "You. Sleep. In. The. Night..." are so awesome.

Heard Black Rose Immortal on YT, a version that seems mixed differently from my CD.
Never realized how weird that bass is. It's unique and helps make the music special, but I can understand why he was replaced with something more ...normal.

Apparently, Johan De Farfalla now works for the Christian Democrats in Sweden. This is clearly the real reason why he was fired.
