The Hunter is more out there than this one, but this is more refined. Not that my opinion matters in any way, just sayin'

Adolf speaks the truth, the deep cuts on here save it from mediocrity. The Hunter overall has more surprises and variety.

Album has plenty of jams. One or two more than on The Hunter actually, so it has the edge. Tread Lightly, Chimes, Ember City and especially the closer have me excited for they'll come up with on a new album.

So is this band any good ? I've only ever heard Asleep in the deep and it was fairly decent. If i am to start which album should I listen to ?

Ehhhhh I guess they're worth checking out. Asleep in the Deep is kind of a jam. I guess start with Crack the Skye, it's their most interesting to me personally and it's less hit and miss than their later stuff. Their early sludge metal stuff is so overrated imoimo

Looking at your music taste, they're probably a good gateway band into sludge metal or prog rock or prog metal or post metal or post rock or stoner rock or all sorts of genres really so yeah definitely check them out

Crack The Skye is not what I'd advise to start you off, it's their most progressive album. I'd start with Blood Mountain, catchy but still heavy and very technical.

Yeah, I would also start with Blood Mountain or Leviathan first. But all their albums are worth listening imo.

idk this is a band that going backwards might work just as well, starting at the surface and diving deep.

also, sounds like someone's never heard out With Sympathy or Metal Magic.
