Empire is excellence, just a different beast. Same with P/L, many around here would argue it's better.

imo PL's t/t is a contender for their best song. One More Time is amazing too. Out of Mind and Lady Jane are gems too, very emotional. Even the bonus cuts are great (Real World and the prog metaly version of the album closer). Pre-HITNF Ryche is something else man

Nah jk. The songwriting is incredible but Geoff really is the key here. There wasn’t another metal in the 80’s that could’ve pulled this off.

always thought geoff would have been a bit more ''hip'' as he aged, or at least not hate the internet, etc. but on their 2011 album 'Dedicated to Chaos', and his 2012 solo album, Geoff is openly against wifi-and the internet, with songs like ''Hotspot junkie'' -
"The wifi wave, I'm addicted to the wifi wave.
An indispensable satellite tool I abuse, I abuse.
The world wide web and all the pictures on YouTube, there's no escaping it."
but he turned out to be very uncreative, out of touch ("pictures on youtube"??) and even regressive, which is shocking to think about when you listen to this album. He used to be ahead of his time.

For sure, which makes it even sadder that he was also the one who nearly destroyed the band later on

I just want Chris back.
Really debating on checking them out live with Judas Priest, they’re hitting my town later this year.
Not trying to get all sappy, but this was my dads favorite record. I never got to catch them live but without Geoff and Chris, it just doesn’t feel like the same band.
