I completely agree with that. I would go on and explain further but I've been on the site long enough to know how stupid that would be.

I totally get it when people complain about Christian intolerance and lack of respect for other people's beliefs or lack thereof, but the people on the other side are just as bad if not worse. Just shows a huge need of growing up to be done.

So Lakes I'll be direct, grow up or maybe you can just as well continue living desperate to control what other people believe or not. Sucks to be you.

You aren't allowed to post that nonsense about not not caring about what other people believe in when your comments indicate otherwise. You are just not fooling anyone here. Anyway, I'm going to leave it now.

lakes, that's pretty darn insensitive. yeah you used to be religious, but for some/a lot of people, it didn't come so naturally or as easy as it did with you. I mean, how would it feel for someone who pretty much lost grip of what the meaning of his own life was?

I can't say that I went through what you did or what the singer did because my hatred towards my parents and all the institutions they represented always kept me extremely skeptical, but even as a non-committed christian, it was pretty devastating for me to finally sit myself down and realize that "there is no god." (at least, not a christian one).

And you know what? That's your perspective on the matter and I respect it but when you make the usual "santa claus" comments it shows a lot of intolerance on your part no matter how you put it. How you don't see that as insulting is beyond me tbh.

I did go through exactly what the singer did. Do I still question my faith? I certainly do and that was the whole conclusion. Does God exist? Ask me the question and my answer will always be "I aspire to know" as both definite yes and no answers are just as bad. That said, I still consider myself a strong albeit unconventional Christian in that I do aspire to be like the man in the bible. You get me?

also, it's very frustrating that atheists always have to be the ones to "prove that there isn't a god" while theists never have to be the ones to "prove that there is one" just because they've been the established norm for so long. neither side has a definite answer, but there so much more holes on one side than the other.

honestly i think atheism is really dumb because there is no way you can prove there is no god

but then there are all of these things that god can supposedly do, yet never seems to. and to me, the point is not that "there is no god" it's that the bible and the church are all so very wrong, over and over.

I don't know if there is a god, and frankly I don't care. because clearly he doesn't care about me or anyone, for that matter. in that sense, he/it is just some random person I don't know and will never met or interact with, so why the hell should I care? he/it clearly doesn't.

What's the point in that anyway? I am a Christian, someone else isn't, I am happy, they are happy, good and thriving members of society so why should I be so bothered in trying to change their beliefs and adopt mine. Like seriously, is it that important?

because have you seen politics? people use religion as means to further their own benefit and not

others. it's even frustrating when their agenda is opposite to their own supposed beliefs. somehow

homosexuality is against god's will though it was never mentioned in the bible, yet these supposed

follows of christ have no problem being multibillionaires even though christ very directly said "it

is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven."

the extent that this hypocrisy reaches for the benefit of an agenda is overwhelming to the point of

smoothing over the bible itself. just this sunday, my priest stated "some of the first shall

be the last, and some of the last shall go first" when in reality, there is no some.

I can't simply stop caring when religion and it's abuse is seen throughout every day of my life.
