In math, 16/4 = 4/1 = 4

^So smart
I just can't believe it's all 4/4; they prolly some 3/8's in there for the hell of it.

Wayer who's the dude in your new avatar?
I personally need more knowledge on the subject. I'm listening and sometimes I'll just start counting but with all these sudden hits and rests, it fucks me up. Especially with these technical bands.

bloc, let's trade. you have the musical finesse and I have five years of hellish music theory. not as fun analyzing things if you can't play it!

Hogwash.

isn't there a point when you analyze too much? When you start looking at time sigs and such and not the actual music itself?
|
| |
Sad, I thought it was the Joe from Fall Out Boy...
Wait wait wait, I'm not that great of a guitar player you know. I'd really love to learn theory and I do read up a bit myself sometimes, but a lot of it just doesn't make sense.

This is hitman and Waior, you're talking to. In a BTBAM thread.

Uh, who says we don't listen to the music itself?
No no, I meant like analyzing it too deeply and being all picky over stuff instead of just enjoying it. . . I have an idea of what I'm trying to get across, but having trouble accurately expressing it

Theory involved way too much patience for my liking; I wasn't a fan of the lines being blurred
between music and mathematics... but it's always nice to know why things sound good and be
able to calculate how things should sound before they happen. Makes composing and jamming
easier, I'll add.

This is honestly how I enjoy a band like BTBAM. First, I enjoy it for being the music that it is... but
half of the fun is discovering all the technicalities and itty bitties that make BTBAM's music even
more complicated than I initially chalk it up to be.
|
| |
Well, it's not being picky at all. Music is made of time signatures. We are looking at the science/engineering of the song this time, not the art.
Definitely Waior, same reason why I want to learn a little bit.

Damn right!
Hahaha, bloc, awesome to know somebody else approaches this kind of stuff the same way. WE'RE
NOT SO DIFFERENT AFTER ALL!

But then I am thinking, why give Colours a 2.5? It's more chaotic than this even.
